It's so simple yet so wonderful. But can it really be that simple?
Yes, according to research, the key to happiness is to create small bursts of positive emotions in the body by taking advantage of small joys in your everyday life, such as a cookie with your coffee, a warm bath, making a kind gesture to someone without expecting anything in return, taking care of an animal or playing with children. So happiness comes back like a boomerang in simple actions you do.
Research also claims that it takes an average of three positive emotions to cancel out one negative one. So another tip for becoming happy is to learn to meditate as this gives us tools to filter out negative thoughts.
In other words, we are equipped with very powerful mental tools to create satisfaction and happiness in our lives. Starting to meditate is one of them. Treating yourself to a good cup of coffee is another. So in other words, drinking coffee on a rock ledge or stump in the forest IS happiness.
