It's easy to understand why Hannah Sjöström has done so well. She's funny as hell, humble and very multifaceted. Some people you meet you just know straight away that you like them because Hannah has loads of wonderful energy. And yes, I really liked her pretty much straight away.

Hannah is a journalist and has over 20 years of experience in press magazines and communications and has been running the beauty and inspiration site Naturligt Snygg since 2014. A portal that is one of the largest for organic and natural beauty where many also come when they have questions and/or concerns about the organic and natural area. To further highlight her CV, she has also written the books "Naturligt Snygg - how to do a green beauty detox" and most recently "Hello Glow - The path to radiant skin". You simply hear a lot of people well. And while I still go on with nice words, I also have to take the opportunity to lift up the gang and friends around her too - Annelie Peter and Christopher. You do an excellent job and it is always as nice as easy to deal with you. c/o Gerd has been with Naturligt Snygg since the beginning and they are also one of our main retailers. Keep it up!

Why organic? How did it start and what made you switch to organic?

I (Hannah) wrote a bit about sustainability when I was a feature manager at Metro around 2008/2009. During a visit to an organic hairdresser, I became aware of how much petrochemicals and environmental toxins are in our beauty products. As a beauty junkie, it was quite a hard awakening. But at the same time, I became curious and felt motivated to make a green change, a detox in my bathroom cabinet and in my makeup bag. Since then, my skin and hair have been doing just fine! Four years ago, I started a webshop together with my friends Annelie Peter and Christofer in Christofer's shed. Today, we have grown quite a bit and sell nearly 60 different brands, of which Care of Gerd has been part of almost from the beginning.

In what way do you think you are making the biggest difference to a greener and more environmentally friendly world?

We have selected the products that we like best and that are free of synthetic substances (nail polishes excluded). In this way, by offering a completely green beauty shop online, we hope to inspire more consumers to make better choices for the environment and for their skin and hair health. We all have a communication background and we also believe in educating our customers, so we are not just a shop but also an inspiration platform. And we are happy to take that inspiration from our digital platforms into reality and create fun customer meetings, for example via our completely green beauty fair Green Beauty Day.

What is your best advice for someone who wants to make good choices?

It's easy to get clichéd when you get questions like this and many people give advice about the same things like air travel and plastic consumption. But I would like to send everyone a positive and warm thought; if you buy organic beauty products, you help support organic farming and that in turn makes our soils more nutritious. And that feels great for the future!

What ingredients are big no no's for you that you avoid?

We try to avoid all synthetic substances and fortunately we only sell natural and organically based products that have already removed the worst in their manufacture. But if I were to give general advice, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, silicones and synthetic preservatives are things that would never come inside my own door. Partly because they are synthetic but also because they do not provide the skin or hair with anything, they are without nutrition and they are questionable for the environment.

What is your and your customers' favorite product from c/o Gerd?

Unisex Deodorant without a doubt! I often recommend it, especially to those who complain that there are no organic deodorants that work. But our customers also like the Foot Cream with tea tree and peppermint (my own favorite when it comes to fresh foot creams), Hand Cream Lingonberry and Body Shower Mandarin. We haven't had the facial care for that long, but we already see that the Eco Facial Scrub is a real bestseller and I understand that it's awesome! I personally also love the Body Shower Lemongrass and the facial cleanser Eco Clean Face Canola.
