Of course, the scenario can look somewhat like the above, but vacations also often mean that we have to agree and get along with other people's feelings, expectations, dreams and wishes, not just our own. And if we have also stressed ourselves into the vacation and continue at the same pace, then that is bad. Too often we have to paint the house, change the roof, dig the foundation, cut wood, hang out with people we may not always have chosen ourselves. Week one we will be there, week two here and so on. In that state, we are not talking about mindfulness, but about an express train at breakneck speed heading for derailment.
So how do you do it?
Plan! Start work well in advance by clearing away all those sourdoughs that need to be finished before the holidays. And by well in advance I mean at least a month before then a mental tapering can begin in the last two weeks. After that, I think you should be kind to yourself and live according to the principle of go with the flow. If you are happy and content, your calm and happy energy will affect everyone around you.
I wish everyone a nice and restful holiday!
