The ICA Group:
The siblings Anna-Lena Rippert Wiklund and Johan Wiklund from Jokkmokk run the world's northernmost beauty factory where they produce organic skin care . Care of Gerd takes advantage of Lapland's natural resources by refining herbs and berries into products that are good for both the skin and the environment. After the siblings realized how common it was with harmful substances in skin care and at the same time were outraged that approximately 40 tons of microplastic are washed out into the Baltic Sea from beauty products every year, they decided to do something about it. In 2008, they therefore founded their own beauty brand with products that protect nature, animals and people. Today, they sell their organic beauty products throughout Scandinavia, Japan and Belgium. The beauty factory's leading edge in organic natural cosmetics has put Jokkmokk on the map and attracts both Swedish and foreign tourists to the town.
Johan Wiklund CEO "It is an incredibly great honor to receive this nomination! We have worked hard to establish ℅ Gerd as a brand and for us, our core values are what drive us. Authenticity and caring for nature, animals and people. Today, we have managed to establish ℅ Gerd both in Sweden and also outside the country. That our factory would be in Jokkmokk was natural for us. Partly because we work with active substances from our region in our formulas but also because we want to have total control over what is in our products. If we win, we will be extremely honored but we feel a bit like we have already won by being nominated."
